Who we are

The Research and Test Centre (RTC) is a specialized worksite which has been in operation since 2006 and which focuses on:

1. Czech language examinations for foreigners
2. research activities in the fields of linguistics and linguodidactics
3. training of pedagogical staff
4. representation and other activities

Testing Czech as a foreign language

In the area of testing Czech as a foreign language, the main aim of the RTC is:

• creating, pre-testing, organizing (administration and issuance of certificates) and evaluating standardized Czech language exams for foreigners (including exams for Young Learners)
• methodical coordination, monitoring and evaluating semestral and final Czech language exams at the ILPS study centres
• methodical coordination, monitoring and evaluating of other standardized foreign language exams provided at the ILPS

Scientific and research activities

RTC's scientific and research activities are especially focused on:

• analysing and implementing methodical procedures in the field of language testing and in the development of standardized exams
• taking part in projects focused on foreign language testing (including Czech as a foreign language)

Training of pedagogical staff

We provide training of pedagogical staff in the following scope:

• training of staff involved in the testing of Czech as a foreign language
• organizing professional training sessions, courses, workshops and seminars focused on education staff involved in the testing of Czech as a foreign language
• consulting services, audits
